Sometimes when I read a question or answer and compare the words to the name and avatar I get the impression that the person I am looking at is not really the gender they are claiming. I don’t mean that they are some kind of weirdo. I think instead they are pretending to be the opposite just to trick other participants. Does anyone else get the feeling that their minds are being messed-with and have they spotted some specific ones that are not what they claim to be?

I am guessing that this is the right category for this question but really have no idea if it is.

If a person lies about that, they will probably lie in the answers also they give.

I guess someone could lie about their gender, age, location, etc., but why would they want to? If they really needed some help with something, why would they waste their time and ours?

I get that some people do that, I'd just like to know why.

Obviously you can, a 70 year old person will sound like a 20 year old dude. So you can't really say.
