i had the same problem when i was learning guitar , what i did was to paint my guitar with blood so we will develop some bonding. i saw some answers saying u should get rid of that mean, b***ch teacher of urs...i will do the same, too LOL...u know if i'm not at work right now and having my short lunch hour...in our library....i will go and look for ur teacher and beat her up until she bleed herself. Even she's free...she doesnt hav the right to make u play....or force u to play..unless u like doing it....LOL and for ur bleeding finger....let it rest for a while then buy the dressing called tegaderm, its like transparent plastic that is quite durable. u can buy it at any drugstore...and make sure u clean ur fingers enough and dry it...before applying it. if u cant find it just ask the pharmacist...they might have similar products. more power to ur guitar playing and fire that teacher of urs LOL

Use super glue on the finger tips. You will get calluses no matter what you do. Answer update: Since posting my reply and subsequently reading the other replies to your question, I will save you some trouble by telling you to forget the band aid advice- it will not work all that well. You may have to lay off the guitar for a few days. What are you playing and how much are you playing to cause the finger bleeding? I play a lot, and have never had a bloody finger. Stevie Ray Vaughn was know to have once put super glue on his fingers. Are you at his level?

Wow! I think you should clean the cuts and put bandaids on them. Do you use a guitar pick? That would be helpful. Even though the lessons are free, that doesn't mean they're good. But you should definantly stop playing if your fingers are bleeding...

get a new teacher, shes not doing you any favors. its great to play alot but if ur fingers are bleeding you ought 2 take a break 4 a coupla hours (or days) until ur fingers stop bleeding and heal up. even if the lessons are free, thats not worth it.

Free lessons or not, I recommend stopping long enough to let your fingertips heal. Roy Clark, a famous Country guitarist, once said he would stick his fingertips in ice water to ease the pain, but I say let them heal first.
I don't recall ever having bleeding fingertips in my early years of playing--just extreme tenderness until the calluses formed. I seldom let my calluses go away unless my Army career said otherwise.
Your teacher's heart may be content with contempt, but that does not excuse his or her regimentation used on you. Learning to play proficiently takes years of practice so use some common sense.

stop playing guitar until your finger stop bleeding. it is dangerous (not really) because if you start playing your finger will became a serious problem. Don't worry i have that experience. After that day i swear to my self that i never touch guitar.

Superglue will work, but you should toughen them up first. I recommend using an antibiotic ointment after you play (you are, after all, rubbing raw meat up and down pieces of metal). Cover the tips with band aids, then once the ointment is dry, use a few drops of tea tree oil on the tip of each finger. This will help the cuts heal.
Once your fingers start to heal up, you will develop a natural toughness in them (and permanent callouses), and possibly nerve damage - but not enough to worry about - it's only in the tips. (Hey, at least it doesn't hurt anymore!)

i've never played guitar but i know some people that do. and from what they tell me, their fingers did all kinds of weird things when they were learning to play. so its normal. Its just going to be that way until you really get used to playing. Its something you can't avoid i'm afraid. It's a price to pay to be good.
