In the second that a guy says Hi!, my brain would have to decide whether he looks attractive and that his body language suggests that he only wants a casual conversation (no creepy Hi!s or Hi!s that are too keen), and that he is friendly and open. It would also be good if he could say Hi! when I look busy as hell.
The only reason that I would think a guy as an idiot is when he says hi at the most inconvenient time, or when he looks too keen, in which case he is just plain creepy.

It completely depends on my feelings toward the guy and my feelings at the time. If I am in a reasonable, nice mood and the man is attractive, I'd probably flirt a little while starting up a conversation. If not attracted, I'd probably give a very uncomfortable greeting back and then excuse myself from the situation. If I'm in a bad mood, it can go either way, just as it can if I am in a great mood. However, I will say that it will most likely be one of the first two reactions.

It depends if I'm single or not and on my mood.

If I'm single, it helps if the appearance of the guy is clean cut, and if he seems sincere. If he is in a group, chances are I will ignore him just because the other guys throw the game off.

Since I'm in a relationship, they will be ignored, maybe I will flash a smile for trying though.

I would think he is friendly, not an idiot. But then again it depends on how sincere the guy is!

That was a good question and good luck!

It depends on how he says "Hi" , some men say hi because of they think you are hot and other say hi to be friendly. It can be miss interpreted so If I was you I would say hi how are you today. and when she answer make a comments on her shoes , hair, or on the weather etc. This will start a conversation.

I think alot just depends on the approach. If he's smiling but not looking like a perv, I'll just think he's friendly and return the "hi". No one with friendly intentions could be considered an idiot.

I would say hi back and dep. on where this is and what my gut feeling was (uneasy, neutral) I would either ignore while being aware of my surroundings or see what he says next. I would actually think that he is simply being polite and what is wrong with saying hi back!

Hey, if you say hi to a woman, and she acts like you are an idiot, she's got some "issues". "Hi" is just a polite greeting, not like "Hi, nice shoes..."

I'd say Hi back but I probably wouldn't say anything else unless he kept the conversation going. Why? Because I would think he was just being polite but if he kept talking that would send a different message.

I would reply with a hello, I would not begin a conversation, however, if he did i would converse, if he had something to talk about. I would not think of him as idiot, no a nice guy. It would not hurt if he was handsome. Good luck and God bless
