I was taken back by the sweep as not many people saw the broom coming. The Twins matched up with the A's on paper good enough to make a series out of it but gotta give credit to those A's for not letting the Twins hang around and open any doors of hope.
The Twins had a great year and won the division title. Nothing to be ashamed of and....their future looks bright.

When they lost liriano, they were in trouble. They dont' have another good second starter without Liriano. Radke is an o.k. pitcher but nothing special. Teams were hitting over .300 against him.

Someone said the A's have problems with the Twins but it's the exact opposite. The A's were 2-9 their last 11 games in Minnesota and lost in the last series they had 4 years ago.

The Twins are very young and will do better next year if they shore up their pitching. The problem is outside of California no one knows a thing about the A's. I go to the games and they're going to be tough to beat. Great pitching, defense, and clutch hitting. They are a clone of the 70's glory years.

The best team won.

Who says they imploded? That's the problem with a short 3 out of 5 series. The Twins played like a team possessed. I'm a Tiger's fan, many many years, was not surprised how the Twins came from no where.

Yeah, they were really hot going into the playoffs after beating the Tigers for the division. Also, the A's don't have a good recent history in the postseason. So I was very surprised. Just shows you how anything can happen in a short series.

some times you eat the bear and something the bear eats you...i watched this year, they got better and better, still have alot of hidden talent, loosing liriano was a big setback, however, give the a's credit, they plays us well, ,,, you know what? why can't they shorten the season by let's say 2-4 games and use that time and extend post season play to a best of seven all the way around? no excusses, we would have lost just the same

I was. I thought that their home record when their two top pitchers started would carry over to the playoffs. Unfortunately, once the series went back to Oakland I knew it was over.

OmG ! You think you were the only person "surprised"? It's a bit late for you to post this now. Surprise is a mild shock, like a present or someone saying "BOO"

Nope............and I'm in Twins fan too.

They seem to have problems with the A's.....and the Yanks in the 1st round the past couple of years.

i think they were over-hyped because of their "comeback" to win the central. it was aided by a tigers team that folded the last week of the season. minnesota is a very good team but w/o liriano, they were short-handed on the mound.
