Do "Swivel Sweepers" (small sweeper advertized on tv) work well? I'm asking people that actually own one.

I'm thinking of ordering one to do my grouted floor with (it's a pain to sweep). Please share your raves or criticism of the sweeper.

I like mine, but there is a magnet in the motor so if you accidentally sweep up a pin or needle, something like that, the motor will stop and you will need to clean out the sweeper. Not difficult but can be a pain in the tushie if you are not patient. Don't know that I would order one online and have to pay shipping, they should be available at Walgreen's or at Kohl's if there is one of those near you; or most likely any discount store such as Target or WalMart-From-He** would carry them as well.

I own two "Sharks" produced by EuroPro.

In Italy, I use one to clean my grouted terra cotta floors. In the U. S., I use one to clean my hardwood floors (I also use a Roomba there).

I really like the Shark because it is lightweight, it maneuvers easily, it gets under chairs, beds, stoves, etc. It's even ok on rugs and carpets, but probably not as powerful as a regular vacuum. It's good at picking up crumbs, threads, etc. It's less good at picking up plain old dust, but in Italy, where we live on a gravel road, I don't think anything could compete with the dust in the summer.

The Shark I have in the U. S. is newer and it has three speeds, the slowest speed used on hard floors. It's better than the one-speed model I have in Italy.
