Okay, so I can either get a Nintendo DS or a psp. I have heard that you need a 1 gb upgrade for the psp so it would have more memory, so im getting the upgrade if i get the psp. So, with the upgrade for the psp would it be better to get a nintendo or psp? Becuase nintendo has really good game graphix, but still psp can have games, movies and songs. Also, I have been wondering, on the psp, how exactly can you hae the internet? And also on the psp I heard that you can hook it up to the TV, record a show and then watch it (Lie without buying a dvd) is this true, if yes, then how does it work?

PSP.. the 1gb you're talking about is the mem stick. that is used for storing files like pictures, audio , ebooks and save game files from the psp games. you can upgrade it upto 2gb by the way its a memory stick duo produced by sony. I don't know if there's a higher capacity storage stick available in the market. But for now it's 2gb. Graphics, I think you looked at it wrong. look at the official websites of the handhelds. It's the PSP who's in top-tier. Graphics, games, media, etc. You can browse the internet using the PSP that has the version 2.0 firmware and above. I haven't tried this thought as my PSP is only version 1.5 . with the firmware at version 1.5 you can download games via internet and store it in your mem-stick. its hard to explain this stuff. To summarize things about psp briefly: It's the best for me compared to nds, if you'll be buying a psp i suggest that you buy version 1.5 and 2gb mem stick so that you can just download games install some homebrew programs out there as this would save you some money. Instead of buying original UMDs that really cost a lot. The only thing i like with the ds is their exclusive games! those nintendo exclusives... especially the mario games... =(

some reference you can look into:

PSP official site: http://www.yourpsp.com/psp/locale.html

everything you need to know about the psp: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Portable

everything you need to know about the nds:

i hope this could help.. happy buying and good luck! =D

I have both, but the psp is far superior. It holds movies, music and pictures, and the graphics are almost as good as ps2. The ds isnt that bad though, but if it came down between the two, i would definitly go for the psp.
To go on the internet, buy battlefront 2 or any other game with the download, and download the web browser. Then just enter a wireless network and turn youhr psp on. Go to network and then web browser.
I dont think you can hook up your psp to a tv, but you can dowload tv shows off of the internet, usually for free. Just make sure that you have a big enough memory stick. I would reccommend a 1gb. It goes fro about 35 bucks.

I have both the DS and PSP.

I would suggest the DS for fun factor, PSP doesn't have many good games and costs a lot more than the DS. If you do want to use homebrew on the PSP you need firmware v.1.5 which means you can't play any of the new UMD games that come out because they force you to upgrade your firmware. You wouldn't want to use the PSP as an MP3 player because it's seemingly fragile, I personally get nervous if I have the PSP in my pocket.

I've heard a lot of stores are actually considering no longer carrying UMD movies because they generate very little sales. Would you really want to watch a movie on such a small screen anyways?

The PSP is pretty, and has some ok games like Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, Locoroco, We <3 Katamari, but it doesn't truly achieve it's vision of being a multimedia machine.

DS on the other hand is very fun, you can play DS/GBA games on it so there's no shortage of good games. Nintendo is also great at bringing out unique new games such as Tramua Center, Phoenix Wright, Electroplankton, Wario Games, etc. etc.

dont listen to those other answers...
i have a psp and i used to have a ds and the psp is truely the best handheld avalible, it is a little more pricey than the ds but once you see the graphics you will know the extra money was worth it.you can acess internet , listen to music , watch tv or movies or play games on the psp. Ive bought 2 games for my psp so far and i absolutely love both of them. i got syphonfilter Dark Mirror and Burnout legends . i can play both of those games online too which is even more fun. having a psp is like having a ps2 but you can take it anywhere and it does alot more. if anyone says the screen is brighter or it has better graphics on the ds then that is a bunch of BULLSH*T trust me i played both and i had alot more fun with the psp than with the ds

so if your willing to spend a little extra money to get a COMPLETELY better system then get the psp
you will be satisfied=)

I have a PSP and I love it. I would like the DS for some of the "throw back" type of games (Mario etc...), but the games on the PSP have much better graphics and are just like the ones you play on ps2.

BOTH!!!

if u can. i think that psp's are better, because they can download songs, they have internet, and you can play games on it. a ds is also good because it can make light and can play ds or gameboy games. i would rather get the psp.

you should get the PSP, and the about the tv thing, it's not true. you would need a router for a access point to get to the internet.

get the ds... I have it and i am very satisfyed with it. Plus if you want your psp to hold music just hold it on a phone or n mp3/iPod. It takes up a lot of memory to hold music and photos on anything
