Rowling has finished the book starting, ending and most of the middle chapters. She hasn't finished one or two chapters. Her editor has forbidden her to tell anyone when the next book will be released or what the book contains.
However, it was posted in her fansite that she's gonna release it on 7th July, 2007 (07/07/07) so that it gives a greater effect.
Also, she's answered most of the questions which was put to her in her fansite or so I've heard.
My guess is that the sliver locket is in Sirius's house ( It was mentioned in the fifth book ), Hermione & Ron get together ( Duh! That's so obvious ), Harry is the seventh horcrux and he askes Ginny to kill him while he's near Voldermort so that they both die, Snape most probably did an unbreakable vow with Dumbledore that he would protect Harry and Snape is related to Harry ( I hope that doesn't happen )
Also, Harry Potter books have 24X7 security and no one, not even the guards are allowed to read it. So, Imagine the hype about one book. So, if the book is gonna release, you'll know at least a month in advance. It'll be in all the papers and websites so don't worry.
Your chances of not findin' out when the book is gonna release is about 0 to-100. So, very very slim chances.

Rowling is still WRITING the book! After she's done writing it, it will probably have to be edited a half dozen times, and then they're going to have to get all the machinery set...
In other words, there is currently no way of telling exactly when it will be released. She may be writing it for another year. She may finish tomorrow and decide it doesn't need any editing. We'll know when it comes out.
I'll wager, however, that her publisher is going to hype it before printing in any case, so I don't think you need to worry about it coming out and you NOT knowing about it. ( :

The book will be published on July 7, 2007. This is the seventh book coming out on the seventh day of the seventh month of the seventh year. It's more author logic by J.K. Rowling.

Your friend just fooled you and doesn´t know anything!!!
The book will come out on July 2007, almost as the same time the 5th movie comes out.

me definately I even have been interpreting Harry Potter using fact the 2d grade and can be extra overrated approximately it then every person else. i memorized each and every of the spells and if u arre a Harry Potter hater the Avada Kedavra to u!
