You're probably repotting them too soon. They have to get a medium root system developed or they can go into root shock and die. I worked in a greenhouse and planted 48 greenhouses full of annuals. We always left them in the original flat for at least a month after germination. Put light source close to seedlings to keep the plant short and strong. Too far away from the light and they'll stretch and be weak.

If you are touching the roots with your bare hands, this could be the problem. Some people have so much oil in their skin that it kills the plants when you touch them. The old "green thumb" idea really does have some basis in fact. Just use gloves when you are repotting plants and try to handle them as little as possible.

Hi,
My experiences suggest that it could be some of the following:

Stem damage from handling by the stem instead of holding by a leaf when placing into growing media.

Cold water when watering.

"ph" and chlorine and etc., if using "city" water.

Cold and/or excessively wet media.

Using non-sterilized growing media.

Fungus such as,"dampening-off" disease, caused by being too wet/cold.

Growing media needs to be porous enough to allow good drainage, plus allow oxygen to the root areas, otherwise roots develop "Root-Rot", from sitting in water too long with no air.

Media "ph" may be out of range for optimal growing needs.

Temps. variations of hot/cold, drafts.

Adding fertilizer too strong or early in the growth stage.

Too much or too little light, and or length of light exposure not enough or too long.

Hope this may help.
Dave
