I've seen "Slaughterhouse 5" on video. It's an older sci-fi film that is based upon a novel by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. Billy Pilgrim becomes "unstuck in time" in it and is taken to the planet Tralfamadore whose residents are combined trombones and bathroom plungers.

If you mean the 1987 film Slaughterhouse, I remember all the praise for it at the time of it's release, but as it was a horror "bloodfest" type film, I wasn't interested and didn't go to see it.
