Get good grades and a high cumulative GPA. Take some Honor's and advanced courses, if possible.

Score really high on the ACT and/or SAT tests. The higher the better! If you don't do so well the first time around, you can take it again and again until you are satisfied.

Follow all of the above if you want to go a high-end school with scholarships.

Otherwise, just be yourself like I did. I didn't have a good GPA or ACT scores. But I now I have an Associate's degree, and I'm working on my Bachelor's.

Best of luck!

When applying to a college they like to see what type of extra curricular activities you did. Are you a member of various clubs, how much volunteering did you do? Were you into student government those types of things. They like the well rounded students those are the ones that are likely to be selected before others. I hope that I was able to help.

Colleges are looking at the grades in sophmore and junior years and the first quarter of your senior year. Lots of extra-curricula activities are a plus. Volunteer work which demonstrates community service is also highly recommended.
