My 1st was early so that was that. The 2nd was coming on for 2 weeks overdue and I was so sore I didn't have much energy but the midwife said pineapple was good so my husband made sure I ate loads of the stuff(and that child is incidentally the only 1 to like pineapple!) and the 3rd was late too and I tried all the walking, scrubbing floors, hot curry (got indigestion) etc, then someone said they'd heard gin was good, so I had a couple of drinks that night and went into labour a few hours later!

Really - I do know a baby will only come when ready, but we all try something I am sure anyway!

Mommy06 - thanks for your kind words but I think you should ask for all the facts before you decide to slander me.
The links you gave me(I only had to look at one) were about alcohol abuse throughout the whole pregnancy that produces a child that is underweight, under developed and most likely dependant on alcohol for sustanance. My son was obviously ready to be born - he weighed in at a healthy 9.5 lbs, fed great from the start, he is as bright as a button, he has been the most content and happy child to the point that strangers come and comment on his happy nature, he has a great appetite, potty trained by 2, he has a great vocab for 2 and is obviously NOT affected by me having a couple of drinks at the end of my pregnancy.
I am quite willing to have silly comments added to my questions - some of them are really quite funny - but I do not appreciate comments like that when you are obviously very ignorant of any background facts.

Mommy06 - just looked up your answers and I see you say in one your only 15. Perhaps stick to questions about boyfriends and makeup.

I will be 38 wks tomorrow! I have been having sex sex and more sex for the past month. I have only dialated to 2 and I am 50% effaced! I dunno if it had anything to do with it, or if it was coincidence! I also went to subway yesterday, and ended up ordering a crap load of jalepenos on my sub. My mouth was burning and my eyes were watering and my face was sweatin. I can usually handle hot food so I asked to get some extra! That sux cause I am still at home...with no contractions! I dont think I would ingest anything herbal though...or any of that castor oil crap(YUCK!!)!

Yes - with the second I tried Clary Sage oil - rubbed on, burning in a censor, in the bath - everything.

I tried rasberry leaf tea

I tried sex

I tried massages and warm baths

i tried curries

I tried long walks

I tried it all but castor oil - THAT IS WRONG - my friend took that and just gave herself the vomits and the squirts. Not good when you are heavily pregnant plus it's dangerous.

I ended up have a stretch and scrape - WORST THING EVER - the dr will insert a finger and loosen the sac from wallof the cervix to manufacture prostaglandins to induce labour.

Well I cried while it was happening because it hurt A LOT - I had a show the next morning but my labour was faulting - on off for 2 days and the baby was in fetal distress so I was induced by the obgyn and had the baby after a difficult labour.

SUCKED - If anyone pregnant is reading this - seriously just let it happen on it's own - If you are excessively overdue ask for induction but avoid if it you can

My poor baby - the distress he wass in not to mention me.

With my first I went two weeks over before being induced. I tried this blue or black cohosh concoction that this herbal lady made for me, it had like cayenne in it too and I was taking it with raspberry lemonade. I can't really remember, but it was nasty and didn't work. I also tried walking a lot with that one. With my second I went one week over before being induced. I tried hot wings from Wingers with her and I also tried raspberry tea, neither worked. With my third I was really desperate, I walked and had sex a lot. I also tried eating greasy pizza and hot wings, along with any kind of tropical fruit drink that I could find, needless to say I had a lot of diarrhea but still no baby. The doctor even stripped my membranes. I was induced with that one after going one week overdue, that's when my doctor decided I probably just don't go into labor on my own.

For my 3rd child, i tried walking up and down 6 flights of stairs, sex, and cod liver oil also a very good curry. None of these worked. But what did work was my husbands cooking, lumpy mashed potato thick lumpy gravy and greens boiled to nothing! i went into labour that night after i ate the dinner!

My first 2 little ones got here in to the international by brought about hard work, the two at 40+ weeks of being pregnant. I certainly have no longer something to study it to (i'm pregnant with selection 3), yet i did no longer locate the journey of brought about hard work undesirable in any respect. It replaced into beneficial to appreciate while it may ensue, it befell at a swifter %. than a non-brought about being pregnant and it replaced into over quicker. I additionally did no longer have an epidural with the two, so of course the soreness is extremely possible..i understand of no cons to induction as long as you and your OB are specific of dates--we don't choose any preemies being brought about. the main suitable thank you to deliver forth organic hard work is intercourse. there's a hormone interior the semen which could help soften the cervix so as that dilation is extra probably. It additionally facilitates if she has an orgasm. there is likewise a stress factor close to the ankle which could set off hard work. pass see your chiropractor and he/she will have the skill to appreciate what to do. There are additionally different factors on the palms and ft which could set off hard work, yet i do no longer understand precisely the place they are. i does not do any of those issues until eventually you're 40 weeks are are very specific of your dates. solid success! :)

My doctor (very old school) made me drink cod liver oil. I mixed it with koolaid and gagged every time I took a drink. Needless to say, it didn't work. I went outside a week later, there was a full moon and I said to my husband, I am going to have this baby tonite. The next morning I delivered a beautiful 8 pound baby girl. She was almost 2 weeks late. Good luck to you!

I've heard sex triggers labor. The stimulation on the breasts and something in the semen. Then again, this information came to me a little too late, since I gave birth 2 weeks overdue. I could have tried it.

Both of mine were past due. The first only two days. The second was like a week and a half. I tried long walks and sex(very uncomfortable). Neither worked for me. They have a mind of their own, go figure! lol

Walking did it for me with my first.

With the second I was induced two weeks early because my first weighed nearly 10 lbs. and the doctor had to break her collarbone to deliver her (she really should have been a C-section). They didn't want to have a repeat of that - it was a rather horrible experience.
