Lip piercing info?
I want to get one for my birthday but I have questions...

1. How long does it take to heal?
2. Can it cause tooth damage? (I want to get it on the side of my mouth)
3. Do you HAVE to always wear a ring in it, or can it go without for awhile? (If it can, how long?)

lip piercings look ugly. everyone i have ever seen with a lip piercing looked like they were whacked out on drugs.

you know your skin will scar if you ever take it out right?

I'm not sure about lips, but I have several piercings. The average time to heal is 3 months. You CANNOT take the piercing out in that time. After that it depends on the length of tim you have had a piercing, and where it is. My nipples I can go a couple of weeks with them out. but my tongue can only go 3 days before it starts closing up (have had both tongue piercings for 4 years, nipples for 5) and my penis piercings will only go 2-3 days before closing (had all of them for 5 years also.

I have broke 1 tooth on my tongue piercings but it is uncommon to do that. I do in=magine a lip will cause the same type of damage (depending on the ring)

it usually takes about six months to heal completely just like and open wound piercing as long as you take care of it and it doesn't get infected... i haven't seen any one get tooth damage from it but I'm sure there is a risk....and for the first year i would suggest you wear the ring to prevent infection and to keep it open but after a year you could probably put in a spacer...
