Looks like "Homeland Security" may find its way into America's schools?

Question

Attempting to thrwart the efforts of terrorist is hard enough to deal with. Now we're dealing with America's "home grown" terrorist in schools? Looks like we're gonna have S.W.A.T and a couple of armored vehicles embedded in schools now? Any thoughts?

Teachers should have guns in schools. If a teacher had a gun these last weeks this wouldn't have happened. Either would Columbine. The answer is obvious. Arm everybody! If we all had guns shootings would go down. It's simple logic. The MORE guns, the LESS violence.

I think children should be able to carry guns with special permits at 14 years old. Just like a drivers license.

I don't believe its a problem as for as home grown terrorist goes. I think alot of school systems should be looked at closely.Most of the shooters have been troubled kids. Some of these kids have been labeled as not fitting in with other peers and the kids parents don't make it any better. In the late eighties and ninites there where alot of school shootings in the inner cities. NO ONE REALLY CARED because it happened in mostly BLACK COMMUNITYS.It really never caught national headlines but because it started happening in rural areas in predominate WHITE neighborhoods it now as started to make alot of national headline news. Did you know that col. was not the worst school shooting in history just check with the public school system in Chicago, Los Angles,New York and many other inner city schools. The terrorist organizations go for the most causulaties and targets that is going to provoke the united states.The more they can provoke us is the more it will divide are country. That is already going on in Iraq. You have Dem. who want are troops home and you have Rep. who say stay the course. That makes a divided gov. IF we do pull out they will declare victory over united states and that is going to do nothing but make them stronger. Lets be united and stop school vilence every where not just the rural areas but as well in the inner city.It Should'nt matter what race or where you come from. America parents should be able to go back to the old ways and be able to install decipline to are kids and tell the gov. to keep its nose in gov. instead of parental rights.Please don't confuse terroist with the school shootings.

The American society and culture is fast becoming without morale's.

When citizens can't do the right thing someone has to point the way for them.

Do your homework. In schools across America teachers are handcuffed in using almost any form of discipline without fear from all directions. Although there some rare places where this is changing. America can no longer afford to wait on time to have things change across the board. It is time for action, ASAP!

Maybe the Police can do what Teachers no longer can!

I am not sure you are correct concerning the SWAT teams and armored vehicles, but do any of us doubt that something needs to be done?

These days, most schools have armed police officers. Many inner city schools have metal detectors.

Why advertise schools as being in 'gun free zones'? Seems to me it's an open invitation to nut-cases.
