It can aid in fertility but only if you've been on the pill for a signifigant amount of time--5 years or more. Here's more info on the study--
"75.4% of the women who had been on the pill for more than five years conceived within six months of trying compared to 70.5% of women who had never used the pill. A similar advantage was found among long-term pill users who took up to a year to become pregnant compared to non-users (89.5% vs. 85.4%). "

No, that isn't true. Actually it's the opposite. Usually when you are on birth control and then stop, it takes a while to get pregnant. It also depends on how long your on birth control pills.
If it was only for a few months, then it will take less time to get pregnant but it will still take some time. If someone was on the pill for longer, like 1-2 years, then it will take longer to get pregnant after going off the pill.
It really depends on the person. Going on the pill, wont help your chances of getting pregnant.

for some people this is true and their again for others it can make it harder to have kids i have seen two different people have this prob one was my sister she was on birth control and when she deiced to have her first it took her 2 years to get pregnant after she stopped birth control and the other was my best friend and she got of birth control and it took her 31/2 years to get her first and he is four and now has been trying for the last 2 years to have her second so i think it depends on the person and as for me i was on the three mo shot and it caused me to bleed for the whole mo and so they put me on the pill to to stop the bleeding and i got pregnant one mo later so you just never know how one person will do very ones body reacts differently

That's what my doctor told me, but she also said that your chances of having fraternal twins also great goes up. I decided to wait two months after getting off the pill for this reason. I didn't want to have twins if I could help it. I got pregnant the first month I tried (I got off the pills in late April/early May and got pregnant in July.) Good luck if you are trying :)
