I really like the idea of putting his last name and his number on it to make it look like a jersey. You should use the iron on letters to do that and maybe decorate the rest of the shirt with footballs or something using the paint. Just don't make it look too obnoxious.

you can find them at any gag store. [now would be a good time to stock up - with all the Halloween stores open for the Holiday]
make sure you check a small portion of your skin to see if you have a allergic reaction before you cover your entire face and torso with Honolulu blue and silver....

regular face paint or regular paint all together i wouldn't know i am not the football fan type i think that they are crazy

You can use makeup, or poster paint works (at any art supply store).
Don't use a house or spray paint, you'll never get it off (at least not without difficulty.)
