It depends what files you download. If the files are executable files (file extension is .exe), you will have a high risk that these files are fake and might contain viruses. Just think of it, if there are more seeds then most likely the files are safe. Otherwise, some people will already know and the number of seeds will become zero or even blocked from sharing.

1st ) Scan the torrent file you've downloaded before actually downloading the file thru Bit Torrent!

2nd) Scan the finish downloaded file...

Advice: Dont download files that you expect to have a greater bytes consumption (GAMES etc...) and only appears to be small.... There is a probability that it has a virus....
