What is the best way to advertise my newly published poetry collection, The Strom Within? MySpace isn't going so well. Okay It's not going at all. Where are all of the poetry lovers? Also, I need something that can display the only place it can be bought, www.lulu.com/angelike. Thank you so much for all of your time.

While I think some of the responses already posted contain some good advice (Writer's Digest and Amazon, for example), it is usually more effective to meet with people in person. Many Barnes and Noble bookstores, for example, feature groups and events for practicing writers, and nearly all of those writers are unpublished thus far: you would be a minor star! Word of mouth can be important, and you never know what connections people may have...Look for writers' groups in your area.

Maybe you could check with your local libraries and/or Universities to see of they are aware of any type of open mic type situations you could participate in. No one will buy your collection unless they like it, and they need to be exposed to it before they'll know if they like it.
I didn't know about the Amazon set-up. Sounds like a place to start.

Check out the Writer's Digest. I know that they use to have some contests and such, where you can possibly have your work published. But check out their webpage to see if they're still doing it. Good luck!

please let me know what your myspace is, I'd love to read your work if it's alright. I think though that sometimes people don't read the blogs that are posted on myspace, but i try sometimes.
