For clothing, it's easy. Just do this:

Cover the stain in peroxide. Then use a pretreater stick on it, let it sit for awhile (I like to wait at least overnight. If you don't wait long enough, it won't come completely out, and you'll have to do it again), or even a week or longer, and wash it like you normally would the next time you wash clothes. The stain will come out, no matter how old it is, or how many times it's been through the dryer. Works for me every time! Easy, almost no time or work involved, and only takes a minute!

If you could keep anyone that's a little too curious (i.e. small children, animals, etc) away from it, you could try it on the carpet, then get a carpet cleaner and use that on it. I haven't tried this on carpet, but it should work there, also.

Do NOT use soap and water. Get a couple of cans of "Spot Shot"...blue can with orange cap, about the size of a can of hairspray. Can be found in cleaning supply section ( carpet cleaners ) of your supermarket, Walmart, hardware store, etc. Generously spray on blood, wait a minute and blot don't rub, especially if you have shag. For that much blood in carpet I would get some old towels to blot with and use a LOT of pressure including standing on the towels. Do a section at a time, not all at once. You should immediately see the stain getting lighter. When the stains are gone, blot with water dampened clean towels, cloths or white paper towels. Spot Shot is excellent for all organic stains, grass, ink, pet stains, etc. Just keep spraying and blotting until the blood is gone. And you can repeat this process if it all doesn't come out the first time.
Blood on clothing should fade right out when sprayed and you just gently blot. Spot Shot even worked on left over grunge on our professionally cleaned carpets! It's great stuff. Costs about 3 bucks a can.

A product called "Goo Gone" has done that job for me time and again. I have had great results using this on cloth, carpet, mattresses and apholstery. It is readily available at most hardware and grocery stores in your area. A bottle costs about $5.00 and will cover a large area. A little goes a longway with this stuff. It is safe on fabric and cleans up with soap & water.

Wash with *cold* soap and water. Then use ammonia to rinse everything with to destroy the rest of the trace evidence. Burn your clothing and shoes as the criminals on television always seem to keep their clothing around so that the investigators can find evidence on them.

Stop killing your victims without a drop cloth, didn't the mafia teach you anything. If it is a lot of blood, you probably need a new carpet.

peroxide. pour on peroxide, then blot it up. keep repeating until most is gone. then you can use cold water and mild soap. then blot some more. or you can try club soda after the peroxide. then use clear cold water and blot up all you can .
