i havent' but my best friend did. the doc is right it won't matter because this is ur first pregnancy. at the end of ur pregnancy or after the baby is born u may get a shot because ur rh negative.

if u dont' get this shot ur body will see any future pregnancies as foreign bodies and try to attack it, causing a miscarriage. u may want to ask ur doc what their policy is when it comes to timing of this shot

the shot is very expensive so make sure u keep up on ur health insurance payments!

Check with your Doctor / Midwife that you don't need "Anti-D" straight after you give birth. They will do a blood check on the baby (using blood from umbilical cord / placenta) when he/she is born and if the baby has different RH group as you, you will be given a small jab with Anti D - this means that if you get pregnant again and the baby is a different RH group your body won't "fight" it.

yes, it does matter! My blood is negative and i have always had to have rogham shots. tell them that you do not care what they say that you want the shot. i do believe they give you one around 28 weeks and you will need one within the first few days of giving birth. if you don't get these shots, it call really mess up your future pregnancies. and watch out for blood typing in different places. i was typed at my doctors office and they told me i was - and gave me that shot. when i gave birth, the hospital typed me and said that i was positive and refused to give me that shot. they never gave it to me, but my OB/GYN gave it to me later. i am pregnant now again, so i guess everything is ok. please insist that you get this shot! you might also want to think about changing doctors or at least get a second opinion.

Hello. I am Rh- (O negative) and I am now pregnant with my 3rd. My husbabd is O+. When I am at my doctors appts they have to do a test on me, and have me drink this stuff b/c I am that type. Everything is fine though, nothing to be concered about. Just talk to your doctor. Best of luck
