The party of personal responsibility won't take it.
The Family Values party turns out to think the Republican reelection is more important than any other value.
Democrats are so disorganized that I can see the Reps getting away with it.
If the Democrats knew this about Foley so long ago then how did his own party overlook it when Reynolds told the Speaker about it. Considering Democrats have messed up the last two campaigns, do you really think they could have put together the "October Surprise" that Hastert says they did, even though the admits he has no proof?
If the Dems, by some miracle, did have this get out, shouldn't they be given a medal for exposing this nasty mess?

Hearings as to the safety of the members of the Congressional Page Program are a reasonable step at this point. I haven’t heard of the desire to depose Democrats first, but if so, what does it matter as long as all those with pertinent information have the opportunity to testify.
I don’t understand the reference to Hitler or being told to follow something.
Whether lead by Republicans or Democrats investigating what has occurred is the correct thing to do.
What is most concerning to me is the real possibility that members of Congress were aware to some degree of the acts of Foley and did nothing. If something similar were to occur in organizations with which I am associated, it would have been about thirty seconds and it would have been brought to an end. This is a matter concerning adults and not to be made partisan by politically spinning it among the two older political parties.
Many of the responses here demonstrate this political spinning. The focus show be on the events and acts relative to the safety for the members of the Page Program, rather than blaming it on some political party. No matter which political party the Congressional members belong to, they should be looking at what "adults" have, or have not, done.

Okay liar you are not a Republican! The reason they want to depose Democrats is because the Dem's were looking at republican e-mails and we want to know why they were looking there. We also want to know why, when they knew about this months ago, they waited until now to bring it up. We also want to know how they handled similar problems within their party. Quit acting so sanctimonious.

They want to see if the Dems know about it for some time and only uncovered the mess right before elections. I think not because if that were true the Dems would have held on to info a bit more so that the Republicans could not due any damage control. The whole thing is SICK and it mreminds me of the Catholic church scandal. I

Hey I can cash in on this too...
I don't know anything about politics, but I feel the wind blowing a certain direction. Why don't I just nod my head and agree with the asinine statement which is phrased as a question, thereby proving I cannot think independently based upon the facts?
God it feels great to be a Democrat... it takes no thought at all.

They want to get all the information they can about having sex with underaged same-sex pages so they went to the source, the Democrankie Party that supports those kinds of perverts in their ranks. After all, experience counts.

Because Republicans are in a panic right now and are acting even more illogically than usual, which is to say that those damned turkeys have lost their heads.
