cold water woolite light cycle my mother freakin' taught me to take care of my clothes...*rolls eyes for my own benefit*

I would have thought machine washing would have caused the down to glump up, but my wife has machine washed our comforters with good results.

Wash comforters as you wash delicate articles. Sometimes washers do not allow a second rinse when using the delicate cycle. In that case, wash a second time on regular cycle with no detergent and with fast spin. Remove from washer immediately and spread over chairs outside to dry and air.

Take it to the dry cleaners because I washed my comforter last week in my own washer and when it came out, it had this weird smell because of the feathers inside it. Also, I've noticed it's not as warm anymore to sleep in.. it became not as fluffy. I would just bring it to someone to get it washed and dried.

I always do mine in the large front loaders at the laundromat on warm and use a fabric softener in the rinse to recondition the feathers. In the dryer you have to use some clean tennis shoes to help re-fluff it. If you have a clothes line at home or balcony, you can hang it for awhile to finish the drying process ( takes awhile )

I take mine to the laundromat and use Tide with Bleach alternative. I use the gentle cycle and use the large industrial size washer. Then put tennis balls in the dryer to help fluff it. I just dry it enough to get it home and then line dry or spread around over furniture until it dries. You can't let it slow dry or it can mildew or sour inside.

It`s better to wash them in a front loading machine(mild detergent)...Let them air dry then fluff them in a cool dryer. Until the feathers get good and dry they will have a smell, so sometimes it`s better to have them dry cleaned for around $10
I worked at a cleaners and this is the way I always cleaned them.

I would take it to the dry cleaners. When you wash one on your own, they tend to bulk up. The down moves around and it just takes on a different form.
good luck
