I am also 5 weeks and have asthma. I am currently taking pulmicort inhaler 2x daily. I have been on this medicine for years now. It helps control my asthma really well. Pregnancy can sometimes aggravate asthma symptoms. I would see your ob/gyn and ask about medicines that you could take to dry up the mucus. Please don't believe any website that has safe medicines listed, anybody could make those up...be safe and ask your doctor. Good luck!

Talk to your doctor about taking Singular as a medicine. It is a allergy/asthma medicine that you take to prevent asthma and allergy attacks. I'm almost 13 weeks along and that is what I take and it is completely safe. My doctor told me that abuterol hasn't been confirmed that it may not cause problems, but she's rather have me breathing, the baby will definately have problems if I'm not breathing. But I do try to limit myself to the environments that set me off, such as a cold lake, around someone smoking (which a pregnant women needs to avoid anyways) and I've also had to cut back on strenous exercises to keep myself from having asthma attacks. I'm so queasy anyways that the last one isn't that big of a problem.

Sometimes you have to weigh up the risks of taking the medications with the risks of NOT taking the medication - your baby isnt going to get far if your not around after having a severe asthma attack - speak to your Dr about what you could take as an alternative but Im guessing they will just tell you to stay on the medication that works for you.

because of your condition, you would have to have ALL medications approved by an ob/gyn. You can look up safe meds when pregnant on the Internet

Contact your asthma and allergy doctor and let them know what's going on. They'll be able to help you.

I went through the same problems. :)
