I live in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley. I used to go to a wonderful restaurant called The Market Broiler, but they sadly closed some time ago, and since then I haven't been able to find a quality replacement.

The Market Broiler not only served up incredible food, but they did so at quite reasonable prices.

What are my options? I've been to Bubba Gump Shrimp (what replaced Gladstones up at CityWalk) & the food isn't that great (and it's overpriced). Does anyone know of any good local seafood options for a valley guy like myself? I'm willing to drive out of the Valley if need be, but obviously closer to home is better than not.

Thanks! :)

Los Alamitos is out of your way, BUT if you want the best seafood that I've ever had, I would strongly recommend The Original Fish Company. Start off with a bowl of New England style clam chowder (way better than Legal Seafood in Boston, which is said to be the best) and then order an entree that is sure to be fresh and yummo! They also have a great blackened ahi sashimi appetizer that is really good too. The best part is that they aren't too expensive. You'll walk out thinking that it was money well spent.

I'm extremely picky about seafood restaurants and this one has definitely met all of my high expectations. If you're ever in the neighborhood, you've got to check it out!

Oyster House is decent (on Moorpark/Whitsett).
Not sure what part of the valley you live in - but shoot over Topanga Canyon and go to Gladstones on the PCH. There's also one in Universal City Walk but it's not as good.

I must concur with Clancy's. I haven't had a dish there I didn't realy enjoy. Not a bad sports bar attached to the main restaurant as well.

If you happen to find yourself in Santa Monica (or Santa Barbara for that matter) some evening, I think Enterprise Fish Company would be a tough one to beat. I have LOVED everything there.

I'm not sure if you're willing to drive East, but one seafood restaurant that I really like is Cameron's Seafood. It's been a Pasadena landmark for years and every time I've eaten there, I've really enjoyed my meal. You can check out their website below:

Joe's Crab Shack in Newport Beach is the best. Or you can come to Riverside; we still have Market Broiler here.

Go to Joes' Crab Shack in Long Beach. They have the best and most fresh seafood you'll ever eat. It's the bomb! I can't get enough of it. I used to stay in Chatsworth near Northridge and traveled to Long Beach for it. It's so worth it.

I used to go to a place called The Oyster House on Moorpark near Whitsett. If it is still there, it is pretty good. Seafood, pasta, etc.

Delmonicos in Pasadena is excellent as far as fine seafood dining. My favorite is ... oh shoot I forget the name, but it's on the PCH near Malibu north of Santa Monica.... it's a real New England style clam shack and it's very good.

Try going on the website www.opentable.com they will list out great restaurants in your area by type and you can make reservations from their site. I have found some great places in my area on that site.
