There is no pat answer. "Just because" isn't really answering, and "because that's the way it is" isn't either.
For me, it is because I make it that way. I make most of the choices in my life on my own, but they are impacted by what others are doing, too Everything I do has at the very least an indirect impact on everything else I do. Rather like a vicious cycle...smiling, a conundrum, if you will.
