My initial reaction was "Oh no....", but then I remembered that Tony Stark suffered from substance abuse problems (alcoholism), so maybe Robert Downy Jr is a natural for the part!
He is actually a really great actor; something that cannot be said of other actors depicting super heroes in recent years. That can be a good thing rather than relying on CG effects to carry the entire movie. I'll give it a chance...
