Make a free account with Flickr (a picture album posting site) and upload the picture you want.
There is a button called "create HTML code" which will take you to another page with 5 options.
Find the one that works for you (they're all clearly labeled) and highlight the text in the box.
Cut/copy this text into your Your Interests section on your myspace profile editor and save changes.
Should work.

Upload it and set as background, aslo you should know that teens are clearly using places like MySpace to establish social status. How do young males establish social status? By posting manly, daring images and information that demonstrate independence and bravery and by being listed as a friend on as many profiles of "hot girls" as possible. And how do girls establish social status? By posting sexually provocative pictures and titillating information that attracts the attention and friendship links of manly guys. How does any teen attract attention? By posting hot, intimate information. The teens who are into playing these games are the ones who are most likely playing these games on places like MySpace.
Watch out for pedofiles!

First, you would have to upload the picture to a host such as photobucket.com or imageshack.us. Then you use the background code:
Just replace the image.gif with the actual URL of the image.

If you are talking about making it the background on your desktop then right click on the photo and press set as desktop background.
