I don't know about the very last part of your question, but I think the regret some women feel after getting an abortion is a combination of guilt and the unknown; the 'what if?' kinds of questions that go through your mind anytime you eliminate a possibility.

Many people are convinced by the evil pro lifers that they should not have had an abortion. Most people see through the facade of the pro life movement and see that it is actually about having power over other humans. It is not about abortion so much as control.
God invented abortion and uses it daily. I don't think that God regrets the abortions that he approves. And I don't think that those women that pray to God about abortion and then have abortions should feel guilty. It is only the ones that are lied to by the pro life nutcakes that end up feeling badly.
God created abortion to make the world a better place. When a fetus is aborted, there is no death of a human. A fetus that is destined by God to be aborted has its soul saved by God. The mass that is aborted is not an individual human any more than a fingernail with human DNA is a human. There is simply no killing in abortion.
The proof for Christians is that God himself uses abortion and that no where is abortion called killing, murder, or death in the Bible. Evil people and followers of other gods may consider abortion murder. And those people will pay a price for their beliefs. But any sane person will simply look down on these nutcakes and pay no attention to their rantings.
The only way the pro lifers can maintain control over women is to make them feel guilty. And that is what they have learned to do. So if you are feeling guilty, then stop and read the Bible. Try and find somewhere in the Bible that says abortion is wrong. You will find no passage that supports the pro life movement. You will find in the Bible that God is a loving and all powerful God. You will find the key to eternal life.
Then look at the pro life movement. It is known for killing doctors, harassing women, and bombing clinics. Notice that they claim to be doing their god's will.
I challenge you to make a choice, chose my God, the all loving Christ that does not kill in abortion and does not harass women. Or chose the god of the pro life movement. It is you choice which god / God to follow.

I'm sure there are a lot of women who regret not having an abortion, whether the kid turns out to be a malcontent (or a conservative) or whether the cost of raising the kid was too much for her finances.
But they can't exactly come out and say that they regret it. Thats not exactly an easy question to get an honest answer on or the type of question that is generally asked in a study. But I'm sure they exist.

I don't think "roe"[fictitious name] was able to get that abortion.She was a pawn for lawyers in this case. she ended up campaigning against abortion along with a few thousand other women who had them. She tried to reopen her case recently, but it was blocked. Why am I not surprised to see that hardly anybody knows about it?Answerman where are you?

Your question is a difficult one. I don't know of any documented cases were people regretted not getting an abortion. Each person has to make that decision for themselves and their conscience.

Still hard to believe in this day and age this barbaric custom is

Mostly, because they are too lazy to take Birth Control, so they KILL the INNOCENT BABY as a result of their GROSS IRRESPONSIBILITY. You could sum it up by simply calling them TRASH.
Interestingly, these same people poo-poo in their pants when ever you bring up Capital Punishment for GUILTY MURDERERS because that in their simple minds is just plain deplorable.
