I always add bleach to my towels when I do laundry. They always stay fresh smelling. I even use it with colored towels. The mold germs are killed by bleach.

Hot Water wash, a good detergent and do not use fabric softener. Remove from Washer immediately and put in dryer. Be sure they are completely dry before storing. If you have to user softener, use dryer sheets as they don't cause buildup in the fabric.

If the smell doesn't come out, try 2 cups of white vinegar in a hot wash ( no detergent).

extremely some human beings have complained approximately front loading dryers getting moldy around the gasket that seals the front door. i does not mess with experimentation for the explanation that mould is extreme stuff. Get a provider guy there to income and manage. AND ask what to do for preventative measures. Then initiate from sq. one washing each and every thing and carry close interior the solar for the 1st couple situations if possible. once you're taking a tub, are you able to scent any scent interior the water? some city water smells poor!

That happens to me sometimes too, and I find that it's only when I'm leaving my clothes in the washer for too long. I know it's hard, but try to get your laundry out of the washing machine as soon as you possibly can. Then use dryer sheets in the dryer.

Be sure to clean the filter in the dryer between each load, and dont overload the washer and dryer. You could throw a cup of vinegar into the rinse cycle. This will pull the soap out of your clothes and get out any leftover residue. Use a fabric softener sheet.

the towels really need to be aired on a clothes line or something similar , anything , because they are stale and probably gone 'hard ' you could put some fabric softener in the machine before you wash , but follow the guidelines , otherwise just air them instead of the dryer , which is probably used by every one and their dog . good luck .

Make sure you move it from the washer to the dryer right away so the moldy smell doesn't form then - also use a dryer sheet like bounce.

If the towels are colored and you cant use bleach, hang them outside for a day in the SUN then bring them in and put a few in the wash and make sure you remove them from dryer when they are done.
The sun will kill any bacteria thats left in them....Good luck.
This has happened to me before and I`m not sure why, but hanging them out for a day does the trick.

A lot of good suggestions here -- I had the same problem and it turns out I wasn't letting the clothes dry all the way. Since then I've been using hte "automatic" settiing instead of just putting it at 30 minutes or whatever and no more problems.

You must use hot water to wash, and put your clothes in the dryer immediately after they are washed. Don't leave them in the washer overnight.
