win32 problem?

when i go to start then run enter regedit it says regedit is not a win 32 application why

You do have issues. Try Regedt32.

For information- regedit is a valid application and is a 16bit app. It still should work for you. It may be corrupt.
Regedt32 is obviously 32bit and is the correct editor for 32bit OS's

My hunch is you are running a regedit that is for WinXP version...
