Honestly Fla sucks! I have lived here for 10 yrs and it is the worst place I have ever lived! Out of 13 states!
There is a lot of great stuff to do here though! In April you should be able to get a good price. If you are looking for all inclusive vacations you should try Disney they have great package deals.
But ......Have you thought about a cruise, that would be no work for you at all, and there are really great family lines now, so that there is plenty of stuff for all age to do!

Florida is great to visit any time of year. I used to live in Boca Raton in the south. The weather is gorgeous in the winter.

In my opinion the best time to visit Orlando is in spring or fall. I've done both and the weather is much easier to deal with than summer.

Currently I live in Pensacola and I love it! The people here are exceptionally nice (southern charm) and the beaches in this area are awesome. The Naval Museum of Aviation is one of the best museums in the country and it's free. The Blue Angels are based here and you can watch them practicing on the base and even get autographs. They fly over my house on their practice runs.

Pensacola is really a good place to unwind and relax. The town has lots of festivals and you may find an event during the time of your stay. Check out this site: http://www.visitpensacola.com/static/index.cfm?contentID=89

Have Fun!!!

Maybe get complementary lodging at a time share, you have to listen to presentation but don't have to buy. Better than many hotels you pay for.
