ck where the wire is hook up in back and see if power is there if so replace the wire

Check with your owners manual or in back of the fridge grate or on back cover of fridge. Usually you can find a schematic for the fridge. If not, go to http://www.repairclinic.com. They offer a very good web site for parts and for troubleshooting problems.

More than likely it is the switch, check with the appliance dealer that sells the brand fridge you have and find out how hard they are to replace, if it isn't that hard do it yourself, other wise have the appliance dealer send out a serviceman.

Simply place a flash-light on top of the fridge so it's in reach when opening the fridge!

You will need to trace the wires back from the door swithc to where they are connected.
