There's always someone who wants to be in control for selfish purposes, and you will find one in every crowd, so true democracy cannot and does not exist.

Democracy is just a pretty word. It's a great concept, too. Too bad we're living in a Plutocratic Republic.

Maybe someday we'll be rid of the special interest groups, the demagogues and we'll also put an end to the control the super rich and powerful has and we'll adapt Democracy in the USA. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

In the UK..... You get a max 70% turnout and the party who wins gets a max 45% of the vote, in other words, we put people in positions of power (supposed to be 'of trust') who represent less than one third of the electorate, and thats when they get in on false promises ( meanwhile they force proportional representation in Northern Ireland, which would be ok except we gotta share with murderers, thugs, terrorists, and gangsters) Then power corrupts weak minds, which most of the mummy's little Public Schoolboys who become politicians are in the first place. True democracy would be being allowed to shove their silver spoons where mummy never kissed them!
