Dodge Ram all the way. Thier much more reliable, powerful, and comfortable than anything else. Chevy is #2, Ford has the ABSOLUTE worst reliability, and toyotas arent big enough or strong enough. You have to work the engines harder, so they dont last as long

If you are looking to buy one the Ford is the only way to go. I have a 94 F150 FORD Lightning that has over 100000 miles and every thing on it is original except for the tires, battery and 1 inside plastic door handle. If you want to know what one is the best, Ford from 1967 until 1979 were far above all other makes. they were bullet proof.Their reputation is what made Fords the best selling trucks all these years. I also have a 76 F 250 that I will put up against any of your Chevy or Dodges as far as work goes.

According to some of my friends who drive nothing but pickups, the older F-150, specifically with the straight six engine. The general consensus was that the 300-six is more reliable than any of the V8s, and about as strong as the 302/5.0. One of the guys is a mason (stone, not free), and he also said that the Ford pickups also generally handled better while carrying big loads than the Chevys did while carrying the same weight. Now, this feedback is from people who used their vehicles for work, which means hard work towing and pulling heavy loads. If you are planning to use the truck for lighter duty, Just driving as transportation or for carrying light loads, you might consider a Toyota. They don't have anywhere near the same strength, according to my friends, but if you don't need that they do run a bit longer. I hope this helps!

I had a '79 Ford F250 w/ a 400 cid motor and a power generator under the hood!! I bought it from an auction at Auburn University, it used to be one of their maint. trucks. They said that it would cost more to fix than it was worth, the front end. I bought it, took it home, pulled out the old grease gun and shot some grease in all of the joints and never had a problem since.
P.S. it still runs great.

The 1997-2003 F150 is a good truck. Only changed fluids, a battery, and an $8 thermostat in 100,000 miles. All of the bulbs are still original.

I'm still driving my 1984 GMC and it runs just like new. Body is in pretty good shape also giving the fact we live in the notheast!
If you maintain the vehicle with a good preventative maintainence program you get years of reliable service. The vehicle gives back what you put in!
Toyota's are very reliable also! Had a few of them in the family and seemed to be very good vehicles. A bit cramped though.

anything offered by one of the major car companies is fine these days it's a matter of personal preference and needs.I personally prefer dodge trucks but that's me. maintaining the truck properly, regular oil changes, washing it and other routine service is the key to making any vehicle truck, car whatever last a long time.My 1979 dodge Dakota is well on it's way to 200k miles and the 2002 ford van that I drive for my job is over 200k miles.

Toyota's are, hands down. Chevy's are popular if you like to modify due to parts availability. Fords are Fords. If you have a hangup about foreign vehicles, last three Toyota's assembled in USA.
