Open the Bitmap file and simply click on File - ‘Save As’
A window will open and you can choose the file type. It's the drop-down menu located right underneath the window where you give it a name. Highlight JPEG and then click the SAVE button. (.jpeg is the same as .jpg)

Open the bitmapped file in any graphic program and say save as and chooose jpg option......... bingo....... now you have jpg file......

it is the least confusing technique i understand. open the photograph in paint, the bypass to document, then to "save as" then while the window opens asking u what u prefer to maintain it as, bypass all the way down to "save as variety" recommendations will seem, alongside with the JPEG format. wish this facilitates!
