Yes I know, according to the vet and such, you shouldn't do this - but I used to feed my cat all the time from my plate. The only things he wouldn't eat were pickles and olives.

I have no cat, but my friend's cats have done so in the past. They all had long, healthy lives.

My New Cat Steals from My Plate and Hands So the Answer Yes

I have never feed my cat from my plate...I hope you mean take the food off the plate and hand it to her and not let her eat off the plate while I'm still eating...ewwwww. The cat is very fussy and will only eat certain cat food as it is.
I had 2 dogs and we made the mistake of letting them eat off the plates....that is we would take a piece of meat and give it to them while we were eating....and then mealtime became a circus. The dogs would come to the table and beg and bark every meal. I will never do that again.

I used to have a cat that would stand on his hind legs & reach up with his paw and feel around on the table. Sometimes I would put a piece of meat where he could reach it.
I had a dog that would pick up a can of soda from the coffee table, carry it to the kitchen (without spilling any!) sit it upright on the floor, knock it over and drink it.

not from my plate, but I will go into the livingroom and they can have some there. The only thing they go crazy over is ham. be it sandwich ham or from a boiled dinner. They do get some, but away from the table. I hand feed it to them, so when I walk away, they know they are done.

no, because i am afraid to get tapeworms.
We used to have a persian cat, who enjoyed being fed from plate at the table. She would eat anything you give her and was purring.
Sometimes when i am not looking my cat that i have now sticks his head into my coffee mug and drinks! I don't mind it because it's just hilarious. But i don't drink out of that mug after and i always disinfect it when washing.

Yes, I give her table scraps. But she always eats only three little pieces, then she goes away.
