The "wah-wah" guitar at 3:09 of the clip I think you are referring to is not a GnR song that I'm familiar with. It may have been an outtake of a jam session with Slash, it does kind of sound like his style, but I can't be sure. It may also be something totally random that VH1 used for this special by some other band. I heard it, and it's cool, but I just don't know who / what it is. Sorry.
