No! Mexico needs to have a higher level of civic responsibility that they have now. You can not shove democracy down a people's collective throat and hope for miracles. It doesn't work, as we learned in VietNam and we shall learn again in Iraq...there has to be an understanding of the functions of government, and the previous administrations of Mexico have been corrupt and even the elections have been questionable. There is no pride left in the people...so as with the reunion of Germany, it might seem a good idea....but now many Germans wished that they could re-build the wall....you mistake a common border for an equality of lifestyles, ethics, etc...they are not the same. Why should we need to clean up the drug cartels of Mexico, the brothels of Tijuana and undertake the education of essentially dirt-poor people that have a barely sustainable life style? But Canada could say the same for the US, why add a headache? US relations with other nations is at an all time low, so why join with us...it is to their best interest to remain independent.

None of the states of Mexico or Provences in Canada (with the possible exception of Nova Scotia) would even consider annexation with the USA.

What a silly question. Of course not. That would be insulting to the governments and the people of both countries.

Canadians would not want to give up their health care system and their more tolerant society, Mexicans would not want to give up their lands. Remember the Mexican American War?
