No, we are a first world nation and have been for quite some time.

There has not been a recession in many years and unemployemnt is currently the lowest it has been in about 30 years (around 4%).

Inflation - do you mean petrol prices - look outside the box for that, interest rates - may rise again by the end of the year, but may not. Real estate prices - yep, have inflated a lot over the past 5 - 6 years - but then again, it really depends where you buy.

Corruption - please elaborate further to answer correctly?

I'm guessing you don't know a lot about Oz - but that's cool, come for a visit and get educated - you won't be disappointed!

As much as the locals here try to knock Australia and say it is like a third world country, that is not a true fact in reality. Compared to real third world countries, most of us live in reasonable comfort and to people from those countries, we look far better off. This is why Australia is quite popular for immigrants from all corners of the world.
