In the bible it says, "For you to find a temple in which you can rejoice and sing until the lord" (in a round about way) It also goes into saying things about "To gather with others to serve the Lord". So Yeah, I think It means church, or a place where groups of people can get together to show the Lord and God how much they are loved. I don't know exactly where in the bible it talks about this, but I am almost positive it does.....Good question, take care, and God be with you.

it does say you should go to church, but a church does not have to be a church they way we think of it now. just gather up a couple of friends read and talk about the bible and you have a church.

i have not seen any proof for mandating church attendance
since many people could not tell you anything from the sermon ten minutes after it is over you can probably guess that they go to church to be seen by others and to show off their clothes
many people go to church just to check out girls
ask them they will tell you

in addition most churches have their sessions on sunday
when the holy day mentioned in the bible is sabbat the sabbath which the jews used in reference to saturday the seventh day of the week

depends what you consider church. church of today and for many years now consists of buildings. i have been told that in bible it does state that no fancy building is needed. bible was written to help all that followed its creation to build morals to live by. Was the do not judge for there will be many that will judge you in return written before or after the stonings?

I know it says that "Thou shall keep holy the sabbath day" -on sunday.
So, going to church is a way we get god's preaching... Hence, when we apply his teachings it is holy.
Holy generally means that dont do anything bad. By going to church it helps to do good. Church is usually on sundays. SO, it does not say, but it means that we should go to church.

"For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them"
-Jesus (Matthew 18:20)

Doesn't mean a church, but it is the passage they use to convince people to go to church.

I'm no expert, but in the Bible, Jesus mentions the idea of two or more gathering in his name - that infers religious community.
