Not a harsh life. I was a Marine in Vietnam. A lot of us did not make it back. That is why I oppose the war(whatever you want to call it) in Iraq.

What has surprised me the most is that I learned I had the ability to fall in love again. It was a long haul for me, but it happened, much to my wonderful surprise.

Also the ability to survive anything.

It has surprised me that you've yet to make a 360. lol Ook so joking!!! (you don't have to......I'll ease up.......*smacks him with a spatula first for not*)

I suppose what surprises me is how quickly time flies. Just yesterday I was a kid heading to swim practice every morning before school. And now I'm a mom doing this with my kids!! What happened? Where did those years go? Sometimes I feel like I lost them somewhere and I'll so never get them back. Then I close my eyes and remember......and all of the huge number of memories come rushing back. I'm just so surprised that l have been given hardships and blessings all mixed together in this thing called "LIFE" and I've still been able to muddle through and find a way to keep going even during adverse times.

I suppose you are surprised you are alive.......considering all of the experiences that put you in harm's way. But the way I look at it........we are survivors. And I guess what surprises me is how few truly have the drive to be just that.

(great question)

I dont answer this one lightly. Having been there must have been terrible. Beyond the range of what I could possibly understand. But truthfully, my understanding was that you had suffered a closer personal loss in this era through the conflict. That was my mistake I guess and the main reason I felt a connection having also endured a certain loss. It's my problem anyway and not your responsibility. The lesson for me is not to "over-identify" with anyone on-line. Please don't take this personally. Perhaps I just misunderstood and no regrets, though.
