I prefer without shoes as well, only because I have a better feel on the breaks if I need them and with shoes I find it slightly slippery.

I am learning to drive, in fact i have a lesson in 5 mins! I have only driven with shoes on but i have to do it with thin shoes so i can feel the pedals better so guess that without would be even better!

I have only ever driven without my shoes once. I was because my socks got wet on the way to the car and I didn't want to spend the day in wet socks. I was already running late and I didn't have time to go back into the house and get dry ones, so I kicked off my shoes and drove to work with the heater blowing full blast down at the floor boards. It worked, my socks were dry when I got to work.

Well. I drive with shoes on.
Once, I took off my 4-5 inch heal boots and drove in my stocking feet yet that was because the boots were impossible to drive with!

I am busy learning to drive and I find it easier to drive without shoes than with. The problem is that I am not allowed to drive without shoes on, 1stly because my parent's wont allow me and 2ndly (but most importantly) it is against the law...
