At age 19 I served 6 weeks of grand jury duty. What a long, heart-breaking, arduous process. By the time I was 21 I had been called for petit jury, which normally lasts 2 weeks. Fortunately, I was able to get out of the 2nd invitation due to the financial hardship it would have caused me.
I have to say the grand jury was an eye-opening experience and a wake-up call about society and some of the people in the world. I would prefer to never have to do that again.
