Uhh thats news to me. I use those words all of the time and I hear people use them as well. But my favorite word is Groovy!

These were words that gained prominence in the 1960's and have simply gone out of fashion. Fabulous became 'Fab' and the Beatles were, of course, the 'Fab Four'.

The true meanings of these words has been overlooked of course.

Fabulous means something pertaining to a fable, or made up story, whilst Fantastic means something that is created in your mind, IE 'fantasy.

These days we seem to have fresh buzzwords like 'wicked', meaning something good although the 1950's beatnik expression 'cool' still seems to be around.

They're still being used...it's just that some words come & go with fads ("groovy", "cool", "chillin', etc.). If a celebrity uses the word/phrase alot, then it becomes the word/phrase of the moment (ie: "can't touch this" - M. C. Hammer; "that's hot" - Paris Hilton; "fabulous" - Oprah; "crikey" - Steve Irwin, etc.)

I think you are fantastic for asking a fabulous question! Have a great day!

What a fabulous question. I wish I had a fantastic answer for it.

Words (like everything else) come in and go out of fashion.

I remember words like cool, gas, grouse.

fabulous went out in the sixties and fantasitic is on its was back in but the reason is because publicists try and give celebrities buzz words like hot or snap and those are what is being used today.
