if you monitor is old.. may be it can be your monitor problem. it can be you graphics card problem too.. u have another monitor or take from you friend and try changing it.. if still gives the same trouble its you graphics card problem.. change your graphics card. if you know how to take out your graphics card from CPU (i hope its not build in) then try cleaning the legs and put it back... may be it will solve your problem.

Check first if the cooling fan in your graphics card is okay. A non rotating or slow rotating fan usually caused by dirt can cause this problem. Open your PC, turn it on and touch the cooling fan with your finger tips (not dangerous), press your finger for a second or two then release and see if your fan is rotating well. If yhis happens to be the problem pull out your card, and carefully clean it or apply anti-static spray.
If it does then sorry to say that your monitor about to give up on you.
Next time do not buy LG. they're not known for quality monitors.
