Regardless of how they are estimating, as already advised - give them a direct reading - you can do this by phone - as soon as possible. If you dispute the costs involved, then I suggest you make a reduced monthly payment and demand that they review their accounting. That way they can't cut you off for non-payment, nor can they threaten legal proceedings because you are paying something.
You can also take your complaint to the Ombudsman - make sure you tell the company - this is normally enough to get them hopping around and falling over backwards to keep you happy.

Give them an actuall reading then. I worked for BG and customers would always moan about estimated bills thats what it is an Estimate. Once they have actually reading for you over a year they should be able to get thier estimates closer to the mark.
Im surprised its happeneing all the time though as this should level off once you have been in the house over a year unless your consumption is all over the place. If you have Gas heating then your Leccy should be quite steady throughout the year
Pus with the prices going up they need to review your payments in advance, thats why you get a DD discount

you ought to circulate down the social and spot what they are able to do for you. i understand that the water agencies have their very own charitable foundations to assist customers yet dont understand if the gas or elctricity agencies do. human beings think of that all human beings out of artwork are sponging and getting a fortune yet they don't look to be. the only ones who can get money out of "the equipment" are single mothers and families. i understand a individual who has in no way worked yet using fact he has 4 young ones they throw each and every thing at him. He must be getting a fortune cos he drives approximately in 4X4. single human beings get the **** end of the stick yet somewhat some the blame. you ought to locate out approximately what you are able to declare for( try the electorate suggestion or community neighbourhood place of work) and declare as much as you are able to. in case you dont, it the two is going to feckless bints unable to maintain their legs closed or the spongers. there is not any income the pot so we are informed however the bankers have have been given away with it ! The £2bn levy against them will fee them not something using fact the caolition have decreased the corporate tax so they don't look to be even paying the levy.

in usd about 95-170 per month. OUCH!!! it appears they are estimating rather than reading the meter, and estimating is always in their favor. is there a regulating agency like the public utilities commission where you are that you can file a grievance? I achieved about a 20% reduction in my electric bill by switching to compact fluorescent bulbs(they do come in warm and cool balance). a somewhat more drastic measure to is to put plastic film over your inside windows to seal up all those air leaks for the wintertime.a big user of electricty is any fridge thats more than 5 years old.

Read your meters every time you get the bills. If they are estimating your readings, they are likely over-estimating. If you find that their estimated readings are a great deal more, phone in with a customer reading. Eventually they will sort it out, but they never pay interest on what you have overpaid!

If they haven't got an accurate start and end reading they will estimate it. They estimated mine at £300+ but with correct readings and a complaint from me because I had provided readings before it suddenly dropped to £84!!!!! Strange eh?

That's disgusting, we pay £100 a month but only because we're in arrears to the tune of £500. When not in arrears, we only pay £35 a month. Get it checked out mate.
