At present my sister is trying to trace ours and has got back about 150 years. On one side most of the men were coal miners and the women housewives. On the other side we have a diversity, the most interesting being a Music Hall performer who was known as 'The Man of a Thousand Faces'. My cousin traced his and got back about 400 years but stopped when he found that some of them were bandits in Scotland who were not averse to a bit of cannibalism of their victims.
