Depends...

Meters only tend to be cheaper if you are single or in a couple not a huge family. My metre is loads cheaper than rates. But my brother and his family (wife two kids, dog!) spend loads more than if they had rates.
Also depends what your rates were too of course!
Also how often you use a hosepipe,so on...

Well obviously that really depends on how much water you use!

I've found that meters do work out a little cheaper, but if you take baths rather than shower, or you leave the water running when cleaning your teeth, or hose down your garden all over summer - of course it will cost you.

Meters are for accuracy in billing but are also there to encourage you to use less water. Personally though, I doubt the "average" person would notice that much difference.

Almost certainly, having the meter makes you more concious of what water costs so you cut down without making a deliberate decision to do that

badly worded but i get the point . being on a water meter should make you more aware of the amount of water used , therefore making you use less water

Apparently, if you have more bedrooms than people in a house, you will be better off on a meter.

well you are now paying for your own water bills before you was paying for the average water rate i.e if you was under the average you was paying for other peoples water as well. so you could spend less but if you was above the average water rate then you be paying more. i have been told that you mostly spend less tho

It depends on the size of the family. If you live on your own it will be cheaper, but usually with a family its dearer. So dont forget to take into consideration toilet flushing, baths, laundry, washing up
& if you dont have a hose pipe ban the garden.

depends on how many baths/showers, watering/hosing the garden, loo flushing
if you use alot of water it is not going to be cheaper having a meter.
but if your good with water usage you will be better off

i would say that depends on you! the meter only counts , how many gallons of water you use each month!

That depends on your water habits really; and how many people are in your house.
