Whenever you watch some programmes(bbc news 24) you are losing a large part of your picture through large blocks of writing flashing accross the lower part of the screen.
It is not just the BBC that does this, and it is on the increase,in a number of cases, this is very off-putting and ruins the programme you are watching does anyone else have a problem with this.
I have asked the BBC why they do this and their reply was "to keep the public informed" then why do they not just tell us what is happening?

I agree with you entirely. I have also complained about the pop-ups, ticker-tape and breaking news splashes but also about their colour scheme of red/black, it blots out putting in golf, goals in football and other popular sporting events like F1, Moto GP etc.etc. I understand from BBC announcements recently that they are revamping their colour scheme so lets hope something better comes from that. By the way, don't ask them why they do it, tell them as a paying viewer you don't want it! I have calculated that we all lose up to 23% of our viewing area when these annoying splashes are on-screen so complain about that as well.

Yes the hyperactive graphics are annoying and they do spoil the programme. They were first put up by American news channels to make them look exciting -- as if loads of things are all going on at once. These days it's no longer a novelty, it just looks as if they're playing to those viewers who have chronic problems with attention-span.

Its the commercials that pay for the extreme high quality television you're fortunate adequate to acquire!

One is absolutely frustrated at Beeb, they are a law onto themselves, why show the same news every 15 minutes, one can only imagine that the news is looped, like a broken record. It's too Americanized for us Brits.

Any soap opera. I have witnessed some women who watch these crap programmes every day and night. They start at about 5.30pm on one channel , they flick through the channels , by the time they have finished getting their fill of this nonsense , it's 9.30pm and the cycle goes on and on , day after day , week after week , month after month etc etc. Are their lives that sad?. I hate ITV now.

I think they do it to allow themselves more time for fluff stuff and to show off their personalities. Notice how they all want to be your friend. I hate it when your program is on and they flash scenes for the next show, SciFi does that alot.
