Great question...I guess it would be preferable to just leave and let the Shias and sunnis slaughter each other. First remember George Bush didn't take the U.S. to war..Congress did so all of those Demos crying now can only blame themselves they voted to go to War too. Second most of the killing is theShias and the Sunnis which was going to happen sooner or later..Remember Saddam was killing Kurds and it was only a matter of time before he got done with them and then started on the Shias. Now it is just retribution. The terrorists are killing far less people than the Iraqi people are. The U.S has killed innocent people but more often than not the people killed are part of one faction or another fighting against our troops and when killed are then suddenly just innocent civilians. In lots of cases they are nothing more than terrorists hiding behind women and children. I also believe you probably scream when we accidently blow up a Mosque because we aren't suppose to attack religious sites but it is certainly ok for them to shoot from the Mosques and store weapons there. Bottom Line the U.S. did a good thing in Iraq. Our time should be drawing to a close though but if you think Americans are just driving through the streets shooting people you are nothing more than a mindless product of American media. The troops are doing lots of good things why doesn't CNN say anything about that? because we love to see despair. Shame on our media and those who believe it without ever getting the facts. Terrorists attacked us first and not once but several times USS Cole, Trade Center but I suppose you would be happier to just put your head on their chopping block rather than defend yourself or have the Army defend you. Why don't you come over here to Iraq and preach peace in the streets and see how long you last.

I can only answer this question with a question. So if we leave now the terrorists will simply go away? And how many innocent Iraq's were killed by Saddam? Do you think that the only goal of the terrorists in Iraq is to get the US to leave?
Surely you can do not believe that to be the case? I will agree that many innocent people have been killed by terrorists in Iraq but I have not seen the CNN reports of 100's daily. You must get a different CNN then I do.
So if we leave now, before the new Iraqi government is fully in charge and civil war breaks out, how many will be killed then?
And if radical muslims win that civil war and set up a government such as in Iran, then what?
We can face them now or we can face them later, either way we will be forced to face them. It is the goal of the radical muslims to control and set up radical muslim governments in all of the middle east. But this is not about religion, it is about power and control. Read some history books, read about the all the wars of all time and see the reasons.
In the 1930's we watched as the Japanese invaded China, and a large part of the Pacific. And we waited not wanting to get involved. We watched as Hitler invaded Poland, then France and we waited because it was not our war. Hitler moved into the middle east and Africa and still we waited. Finally we were forced into war whether we wanted it or not. The result was 100's of thousands killed on both sides because we waited. So we could have waited even longer until the Japanese were ready to attack the west coast and the Germans the east coast. Our next problem is Iran. If you watch your CNN surely you have seen the president of Iran making threats all the time. Should we sit back and wait?

In war, civilian casualties happen, its a sad fact but no war has ever just killed soldiers of opposing armies. Modern warfare is not perfect but it is the best we have. Why don't you ask,"how many innocent soldiers will be killed by Terrorists and insurgents" Armed Forces personnel are only trying to do their job, read any books on war in a conflict where the enemy is disguised as civilians and not clearly identified and you will see those Armed Forces people suffer psychological problems for a long time. The First and Second World Wars were relatively clean, you knew who the enemy was. I remember a friend of mine in Vietnam who once said," you never knew if the people coming to greet you were unarmed or had a grenade".Back the Service personnel 100%, they are only doing their job, if you want to take it out on someone blame and attack the politicians who sent them there.

You have a very narrow mind on this subject. try and watch some fair and balanced news. Ask the very calm and scary terrorist in Iran, (the leader of Iran) that question. He has undermined us in Iraq and Afghanistan all along. He wants us to fail and get out so Iran is in control of that region. Until that loony leader is either overthrown or dead it will not end. So the answer many want by getting out and coming home and hiding in the corner watching them kill each other sounds better ?

America wants control of Iraqi Oil so it is giving it name of Iraqi Freedom and reconstruction. Osama Bin Laden and other groups are fighting against interests of America and innocent people are paying price. It can be stopped byt true means of working on betterment of People intstead of self interest. and the fact is America is Occupying Iraq not Iraqis Occupying America. Better Iraqi People decide there own fate after so called war by America on Weapons of Mass Destruction which exists in USA not in Iraq.

The difference between the Americans and the Terrorists, is that the Terrorists are trying to slaughter innocent people. The Americans are trying to prevent the slaughter of innocent people.

What I want to know is where are all the people who shouted beforehand that all we would do is destroy the country and open it up to terrorists. They should be out in force shouting "I TOLD YOU SO" from the highest rooftops.
We have REALLY screwed things up over there. I hope to any God there is that that 5hit never happens to me or mine.

Americans have much greater technology and organisation, and could have stopped the insurgency almost straight away. But they keep provoking civilians to attack them, and gun them all down. It's no accident; it's genocide.
