Hi. i lived in the country and had baby roos as pets for a few years after there mothers were killed by cars. they eat only grass, and they eat early mornings and at dusk in the afternoon they do eat for hours on end. they know that certain flavoures in the grass can hold a pregnancy for up to two years, befor the birth . the mothers can remain like that, similer to suspended animation untill the rite flavour is in the grass, you can find much more info from Australian National Parked and wildlife.

Kangaroos eat rough grasses and some crops such as corn. Tree kangaroos from rainforests eat leaves.
